The San Jose to Arenal Shuttle takes approximately 4 hours.
Your shuttle will pick you and other fellow travelers from hotels nearby your departure area, and you will go on a 4-hour ride to reach your destination. Your driver will make a 20-minute stop approximately halfway through, so you can stretch, grab a snack or use the restrooms.

The San Jose to Arenal Shuttle runs twice a day.
The first San Jose to Arenal Shuttle departs from San Jose at 7 am and picks you up at your lodge between 7 and 8 am. The second San Jose to Arenal Shuttle departs San Jose between 2:15 pm and 3 pm.
As mentioned above, the San Jose to Arenal Shuttle is a door-to-door transportation service, so you will be picked up directly at your hotel or AirB&B, as long as they are within a reasonable distance inside the San Jose perimeter.

San Jose to Arenal Shuttle Prices
The San Jose to Arenal Shuttle offers an affordable transportation solution for travelers going from San Jose and Alajuela, the city of the SJO Airport, to Arenal.
The regular price for the San Jose to Arenal Shuttle is $67 per person for two or more adults, $33 for kids under 12 years old, and $100 for solo travelers, which includes the entire ride, a piece of luggage, and a carry-on. Your carry-on will travel with you inside the shuttle, while your luggage will go in the shuttle’s luggage area.
Extra items: As mentioned above, the regular price for the San Jose to Arenal includes a piece of luggage and a carry-on. For additional luggage or a surfboard (up to 6 feet long max), the extra charge is $15 apiece. If you have to carry one of these items, you will need to pay the additional cost to the driver in cash at the pickup time.
San Jose to Arenal Shuttle Capacity
The San Jose to Arenal Shuttle’s maximum capacity is up to 22 passengers, in which case a big shuttle will pick you up, there can also be multiple shuttles running on a particular day, but your family will travel in the same shuttle.
