On this tour, you will go on a 2.5-kilometer (1.5-mile) nature trail with a series of six hanging bridges spread across the course, including Costa Rica’s largest hanging bridge, a massive 236-meter (775 feet) above the canopy of the trees.
The trail has two loops: a petite look that includes four bridges and takes between 1 and 1.5 hours to complete, depending on your pace, and a second loop that provides two more bridges and takes about 2 hours to complete.
You may also upgrade to go with a local tour guide so that you can increase your chances of spotting wildlife. Local experts know how to find nature and have the right equipment to do the job, such as high-definition spotting scopes.

When booking online, you may choose the option to upgrade to go with a local tour guide instead of going on your own. We highly recommend you opt-in to go with a guide. Our knowledgeable guides will share their passion and expertise, enhancing your connection with the cloud forest’s flora and fauna, and they will help you find much more wildlife than you otherwise might without them.
Your safety is our top priority. At Sky Walk Monteverde, we provide top-notch equipment and follow strict safety protocols. While our hanging bridges are suspended, their structure is solid and rigid. They move slightly when you walk on them, but not too much. We also have a capacity limit to ensure they are never overwhelmed, which would cause them to move more. This is why we only allow visitors with a reservation, and we encourage you to book online with as much anticipation as possible to secure your spot.

The Sky Walk Monteverde experience occurs at Treetopia Park (formerly Sky Adventures Monteverde), about 10 minutes from Monteverde’s main town, Santa Elena. After booking online, you will get a confirmation email with the Google Maps location with driving instructions to get here.
If you don’t have a car to get to us, you can add transportation for an additional fee when booking online. Type in the name and address of your Hotel/Airbnb, and we will happily pick you up 30 to 60 minutes before the tour starts. We’ll also take you back.
Our flexible cancellation policy allows you to cancel with a full refund up to 24 hours before the tour day. You can easily cancel online, directly from your confirmation email —no need to talk to someone, and no questions asked.
The Sky Walk Monteverde Tour is generally open through most weather conditions (including rain). However, if there is challenging weather (such as a thunderstorm), we will work with you to reschedule or refund you.

The entrance fee to Sky Walk Monteverde includes insurance and a map to follow the 2.5-kilometer (1.5-mile) trail. Alternatively, when booking online, you can add the option to go with a tour guide, which we recommend so you can learn more about the cloud forest and potentially see more animals.
The hanging bridges at Sky Walk Monteverde move slightly as you walk on them. However, you can grab the handles to keep your balance. Safety is a top priority, so the barriers on either side of the bridges are tall enough to prevent anyone from falling.
In any case, the bridges move so slightly that the chances of this happening are slim. We’ve been in the business for 25 years without any incidents and limit the number of visitors we allow to make the bridges even safer. This is why we recommend you book online ahead of time with as much anticipation as possible to secure your spots.
All visitors must have a reservation. Walk-ins are not allowed due to the limited capacity the trail can handle.
There’s also a new government limit on the number of visitors each park can allow (which changed due to COVID-19). Click the “Book Now” button for real-time availability and reservations.
If you’re trying to book and don’t see availability online, you may contact us (our contact information is at the bottom of this page) to see if we got any last-minute cancellations that may free up the spots you need.
If you don’t have a car to get to the park, we can provide a free shuttle service from your Monteverde Hotel/Airbnb to the park and back to your Hotel/Airbnb. Our shuttles are large vans with A/C, and they pick up/drop off multiple customers simultaneously.
We have specific pickup times depending on your location, so after you book online, you will first receive your confirmation email, and then (a few hours later), you will get a follow-up email with the pickup time at your Hotel/Airbnb.
On the way back from the park to your Hotel/Airbnb, our shuttles also leave the park at specific times (usually every hour), so you may need to wait at the park’s reception for a while after you finish your activity. We work like this to minimize the number of cars on the road to keep up with our gas emissions target to remain a sustainable park.
Please note that some Hotel/Airbnb’s locations are advertised as part of Monteverde, when in reality, they are far away from town. And they might be outside our service area. If that is your case, we will let you know via a follow-up email, so that we can try to find a solution for you or cancel your reservation with a full refund.
We have a flexible cancelation policy.
After you book online, you will get an automatic confirmation email. This confirmation email contains a “Cancel” button, so you can easily cancel online without talking to anyone (no need to provide explanations).
If you cancel at least 24 hours before the activity day, you will get a full refund (otherwise, there will not be a refund). For example, if your tour is on February 28 at 8:30 AM, you should cancel before February 27 at 0:00 AM to get a refund. You will not get a refund if you cancel on February 27 at 0:01 AM or later.
On the other hand, this activity generally operates under most weather conditions (including rain) unless it is risky for participants (such as during heavy thunderstorms). If you arrive at the park and the weather prevents us from letting you in, we can try to reschedule or give you a full refund.
