Night Walk (Night Tour) Monteverde Costa Rica

A Night Walk (a.k.a. Night Tour) is a light walk in primary and secondary forest with nothing but a flashlight and a Naturalist Guide leading the group… Usually consisting of 1.5 to 2 hours.

With a Guide and a Flashlight, exploring the forest at night can be an incredibly interesting experience. You will learn a lot about local flora and fauna and you will experience what it’s like to be in the forest at night. 

These walks take place in a forest or in local farms where the animals tend to be more active during the night time. In fact, 80% of the animals and insects of the cloud forest are active after the sunset.

Coatis and agoutis are commonly sighted, as are monkeys, porcupines, and other animals.

However, with nature, there is never a guarantee so no one knows which animals will be seen, but the experience of getting so close to nature in such environment (all dark and filled with the sounds of crickets, and other insects surrounding you) is a great experience on its own…
