The Monteverde Waterfalls Full-Day Tour is also a self-guided trekking adventure that goes through the same 5-km (3.1 miles) downhill trail as the half-day tour, followed by a steep 3-km (1.5 miles) climb that takes you back to the starting point. This adventure does not include the horseback ride; instead, you will hike and climb on your own feet. It does not have lunch, so we only recommend it for those in great shape, and we recommend that you prepare well for the adventure (take snacks and water with you).
